Falcons/Saints MNF Game of the Year

Two 2-0 NFC South teams meet on Monday Night Football in the Super Dome in New Orleans as the renovated stadium is back in business. The Falcons roll into town coming off two big wins against Carolina and Tampa Bay and the Saints head into their home opener with wins at Cleveland and Green Bay thanks to a revitalized offense.

Bringing in Drew Brees has proved to be a good move in the early going as his ability to stand in the pocket and deliver the football accurately is something that Saints fans weren’t used to seeing with Aaron Brooks under center. Reggie Bush has also lived up to all the hype and he is already a highlight reel favorite on ESPN.

Why is Atlanta off to such a good start? The Falcons control the football with the league’s best rushing attack led by Warrick Dunn and quarterback Michael Vick. Vick’s scrambling ability allows the Falcons to pick up third downs even when the defense stuffs the initial pass play. In other words, he keeps drives going with his legs.

The Falcons are 16-6 against the Saints since 1995, but during that span, New Orleans hasn’t had an offense of this caliber and we must strongly consider the possibility that there could be some magic in the air with this being the first game the Saints have played in New Orleans since the hurricane devastation. The crowd will be electric, especially on the Monday night stage and for their undefeated team.

Penetrating Atlanta’s defense will not be an easy task however. The Falcons held the Panthers to just six points at Carolina in the opener and they only gave up a field goal to the Bucs last week.

Despite dominating with their rushing attack, the Falcons have had trouble finishing off drives with touchdowns. Kicker Michael Koenen missed four field goals from inside 40 yards last week and he is just two-for-eight on the season. This could be a problem for the Falcons in this one.

New Orleans’ defense will have its work cut out for itself trying to stop ufabet มือถือAtlanta’s rushing attack, but by the same token Atlanta will have to be aware of all the different ways the Saints look to utilize Reggie Bush. There is a clear winner in this Monday Night Football matchup of two undefeated NFC South teams and Jimmy Boyd has it for you. I am so confident in my Monday night winning side that I am making this my Monday Night Football Game of the Year. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to cash in on Jimmy Boyd’s biggest Monday Night Football play this season.
